Art Teacher Quilt

My customer's mother was an art teacher for the same middle school for 23 years.  Due to Covid she retired early.  Through the years she saved all of her students' artwork on a website.  My customer (her daughter) got onto the website and picked out 20 pieces of student art that best represented her mother's 23 years of teaching and had them printed on fabric.  She asked me to make those pieces into a quilt.  So where do I even begin when making a piece for another artist?  My customer sent me a picture of some fabric that she thought she wanted to use on the back of the quilt.  She picked the fabric because it was a print in the style of her mother's favorite artist Piet Mondrian.  She had even painted her car in the style of Mondrian.  As soon as I saw the fabric and did a little research, I knew exactly what I needed to do with the fabric art pieces.  This was such a fun project and a great collaboration.
