This quilt tells the beautiful story of a grandmother and mother's love.  My customer's mother loved to make clothes for her granddaughter.  She saved all of the scraps so that one day she would make her granddaughter a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt as a wedding present.  Unfortunately, the grandmother passed away about a year before the granddaughter was to be married.  My customer (the daughter) asked me to complete her mother's vision and make the Sun Bonnet Sue Quilt.  She did not know how to sew but she wanted to be a part of the process so she collected all of the scraps and cut them into their shapes and assembled them into baggies so I knew what each "Sue" should look like.  She also picked out glittery fabric for all of the shoes because her daughter always wore sparkly shoes.  The quilt was presented to her daughter at the rehearsal dinner along with a poem titled "A Mother's Love" that was written for this occasion about the quilt.
