This project presented an interesting challenge because my customer wanted to do a jigsaw design (the graphics of the t-shirts fit together like a puzzle) but she did not have enough for a throw size quilt. She did, however, have a lot of knit shirts that had an all-over print. As we talked about her mother, my customer wanted to incorporate more images that reminded her of her mother, so we started to explore embroidery options to include with the graphics. So, I incorporated all of the embroidery pieces with the important t-shirt graphics in the center of the quilt and created a colorful border out of all of the print fabrics. In the end, I think this created a great balance.
